Nuqul Group’s team recently visited Al Koura District to review the progress of projects that are currently being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and the Deir Abi Saeed Municipality. The visit focused on Nuqul Group’s packaging and labeling center in Al Koura District which is an integral component of its corporate social responsibility program that involves a comprehensive adoption approach focusing on long term community empowerment and sustainability.

Spearheading a number of ambitious socio-economic, cultural, educational, and food security projects and activities in the district, Nuqul Group’s packaging and labeling workshop is housed in the urban area in Deir Abi Saeed, a multi – purpose facility owned by the municipality.
Throughout the past three months, Nuqul Group has furbished the facility with machinery, equipment, and furniture, and launched a district wide campaign with the Deir Abi Saeed Municipality to recruit economically vulnerable community members to receive training and incubation within the workshop.
Nuqul Group is also providing all the necessary training for the production process while the local municipality is facilitating logistical collaboration to support Nuqul Group’s overall   CSR program. The municipality will be dedicating the urban district to the purposes of Nuqul Group‘s project as well as providing a full time guard for the location, amongst other forms of support.
Salim Karadsheh, Nuqul Group’s Chief Executive Officer commented: “Through this first of its kind partnership between the public and private sector we will witness the implementation of a number of innovative and locally responsive initiatives throughout 2013. Nuqul Group’s adoption of Al Koura District has always been a long term commitment and we are creating the right model to ensure sustainability.”
Karadsheh added: “I would also like to thank the Municipality for offering land where we will  be  able to establish an agro – cottage processing unit which will use the chemical free farming produce already being cultivated on the land, and  for supporting a home farming project that will benefit 10 – 15 families in the district in 2013; all these efforts are part of the program that will be implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, local municipalities, civil society organizations, academic institutes ,and specialized sustainable development organizations.”
It is worth mentioning that 48 applicants from different areas of Al Koura district applied and eight women were chosen to form the core socio-economic team within Nuqul Group’s CSR program.
